Phoenix Store Opening Marks Milestone for Company, Kicks-Off Major Expansion Program To Other Key Cities Across the U.S. |
Melt Inc. (OTCBB: MLTC), owner, operator and franchisor of quick service restaurants operating under the name 'Melt gelato & crepe café', has opened its first franchised owned store outside of California. The newest store is located in Phoenix, Arizona in the Paradise Valley Mall, one of the largest retail shopping center complexes in the Phoenix area.
Melt's expansion into the Phoenix area, the fifth largest city in the U.S. with a population of more than 1.4 million, is a major milestone for the Company and part of a larger expansion program across the U.S. Additional key store openings in 2006 include: San Francisco, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Toledo, Philadelphia, Connecticut, New Jersey, Florida and more.
'The Melt concept is gaining momentum in cities across the U.S., as consumers are excited about the unique flavors and tastes of gelato and its low fat content,' said Mr. Clive Barwin, Melt President and Chief Executive Officer. 'Our business model offers franchisees the opportunity to profit from selling a new and exciting product to a large and untapped market. The opening of this Phoenix store marks a significant milestone for the Company and our shareholders, as we continue to expand the brand and our concept across the U.S.'
Ms. Angela Chung franchisee and proprietor of the Melt-Phoenix store added: 'As an entrepreneur and someone who has always wanted to own my own business, I wanted to sell something fresh, fun and different. I researched several franchise opportunities and the 'Melt gelato & crepe café' concept was unparalleled. The product offerings are exceptional, and as a result, we are already receiving a lot of attention and foot traffic. The team at Melt has been great in supporting our opening and we are looking forward to being part of a very successful brand and business.'
Melt's expansion program is initially focused on California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Missouri, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Illinois and Washington States. The program is estimated to drive the store count from 30 by the end of 2006 to 174 in 2008 with operations in 20 states.
