Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort Renews Investment with Hospitality Solutions International to Manage the Resort's Complex Point-Of-Sale Requirements

Hospitality Solutions International (HSI), a division of MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS) , and a leading software developer for the hospitality industry, is pleased to announce that Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort has renewed its investment in HSI with a major upgrade of its HSI Profit Series Point-of-Sale (POS) software. |
Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort chose to upgrade the HSI Profit Series POS system to take advantage of a single database used to process point-of- sale transactions in its restaurants, bars, retail shops, box office, beauty salon and parking garage. Guest charges are seamlessly interfaced to the property management system and posted to the guest folio. In all, the HSI Profit Series POS application is installed in more than 20 outlets, on more than 110 workstations throughout the property.
Under the terms of the agreement, HSI has provided new file servers with Microsoft Failover Cluster for Windows 2003, external data storage and 21 new workstations. Using Microsoft Failover Clustering on the file servers allows server redundancy in the event of hardware failure, allowing the system to remain operational at all times.
"Since we chose HSI as our point-of-sale solution over six years ago, the HSI level of service and responsiveness has been excellent," stated Tom James, Hotel Controller, Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort. "The HSI software was able to manage the transaction volume a property of our size generates into a single database solution, which has proved to be both reliable and efficient."

The HSI Profit Series Point-of-Sale system is an easy-to-use, scalable, windows-based solution designed to fit into nearly any hospitality environment. The simplicity of design is backed by extraordinary functionality and intuitive graphics. The HSI Profit Series POS links front- of-house and back-office applications in a real-time format, which allows system changes to be made instantly, even as the system is operating.

The Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort, located in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is the ultimate casino and resort luxury experience with 1,250 guest rooms including 242 luxury suites, 19 dining and 12 beverage locations, parking for approximately 6,950 cars, a 14-bay bus terminal and approximately 140,000 square feet of ballroom, meeting room and pre-function space. The Trump Taj Mahal also features approximately 159,086 square feet of gaming space including 193 table games, 4,419 slot machines and 12,000 square foot Poker, Keno and Race Simulcasting room.
