Restaurant show's fans saying, 'More, please!' |

In the early days of "Check, Please!" the show's creator, David Manilow, had to ask friends and acquaintances to be guests.
These days, he doesn't have to ask. Manilow said there is a 10,000-person waiting list to get on the show, which kicks off its fourth season at 8 p.m. today on WTTW-Channel 11.
Among the thousands vying for a guest spot: a computer consultant who wondered in his online application, "What's with all the food with cilantro??" and an attorney who boldly offered, "For better or worse, I'll eat almost anything."
The show has become so popular, a San Francisco version and a cookbook with recipes from restaurants featured on the show are in the works for next year. And talks are brewing for either a restaurant guide or magazine based on the show.
