IHOP Corp. Reports Third Quarter 2004 Same-Store Sales Increase of 5.3%
IHOP Corp. (NYSE:IHP) today previewed its system-wide same-store sales results for the Company's third quarter ended September 30, 2004. IHOP's system-wide same-store sales increased 5.3% for the third quarter 2004. For the nine months ended September 30, 2004, system-wide same-store sales increased 5.6%.
Julia A. Stewart, IHOP's President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are pleased with IHOP's 5.3% same-store sales increase during the third quarter 2004, as well as our 5.6% year-to-date performance which continues to outpace our positive results last year. During the third quarter, the broad appeal of IHOP's Paradise Pancakes breakfast promotion, in addition to our guests' strong reception to our second lunch and dinner promotion of the year, Never Ending Popcorn Shrimp, were significant contributors to our exceptional performance. Looking ahead, there continues to be a tremendous amount of upside for IHOP to capture as we work to further energize our brand and instill operational excellence at the restaurant level, and we have every confidence of continuing our strong same-store sales trends."
IHOP will release full financial results for the third quarter 2004 on Thursday, October 21, 2004 before the market opens.
