Moe's Turns Three with 100th Store in Dallas |

To celebrate its third anniversary, Founder and Chief Martin Sprock opens his 100th Moe's in the Dallas area and reinforces an earlier claim that his "Fresh Mex Baby" will outpace the category in 2004 with new store openings.
Relying on restaurant pros Jim Hammond and Larry Klinghoffer to mark restaurant 100 in Hurst, Texas, Sprock begins a category leading pace of opening four restaurants a week, about twice as many as the category's two largest players, Chipotle and Baja Fresh. If that's not enough, Sprock promises a new sibling brand to go along with his growing family of innovative, healthier concepts, which he will announce in late January.
"2003 was a great year for us and we anticipate more of that same success thanks in large part to aggressive, seasoned franchisees like Jim and Larry," explains Sprock. "They have witnessed first hand the affinity that consumers have for our brands and continue to contribute to our focus of being the category leading brand."
"Moe's 100" is now open at 420 Grapevine Hwy, Ste. 101 in Hurst. In honor of the 100th store, the Hurst and Lewisville Moe's Southwest Grill locations are celebrating with a signature burrito to every customer, compliments of Moe's, throughout its grand opening day on January 10.
"We have been involved with the restaurant category for more than 20 years," explains Jim Hammond. "Our success with Moe's in the last year has sealed our belief that this is a brand with untapped potential. It's a great brand for a franchisee because the system behind it runs effectively and with a pro-franchisee model. And we have come to realize that the consumer loves it, not just once a month or even once a week, but sometimes several times a week."
Appealing to a more health-interested public, Moe's food is so fresh; there are no freezers or microwaves at any of the locations. Moe's offers burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads with a choice of grilled tofu, chicken or steak. Moe's also offers a few vegetarian items, a kid's meal and adult beverages. Everything is made fresh daily - contributing to the rapid growth of the brand and turning Moe's customers into Raving Fans!
About Moe's Southwest Grill

The Atlanta-based company was founded by Martin Sprock in December 2000 and currently has 100 restaurants in operation. Greeted with a trademark "Welcome to Moe's" cheer that sets the tone for a lighthearted experience in each store, Moe's is quickly becoming the southwest concept to watch with a total of 650 more franchise units scheduled for 23 states.
