  Folgers Brews 14 Pct. Coffee Price Hike   
   
Folgers, a brand of Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE:PG), boosted the price of its roast-and-ground coffee by 14 percent on Thursday, affecting about 75 percent of its retail coffee line.

Other coffee companies may follow suit, because Folgers has historically been the first to raise or lower its prices.

Citing rising prices for green coffee, a company spokeswoman said the new list price will be about $2.28 per 13-ounce equivalent for ground coffee sold in retail stores.
