Zaros New York Bagels Now Available To Discerning Customers from Coast-to-Coast
New York Bagels have long been considered one of those quintessential New York items that tourists long to taste as soon as they step off the plane, and ex-patriate New Yorkers pine for as soon as they leave the city line.
For years, bagel chains have tried to pass off phony imitations of so-called New York Bagels but there is just no mistaking the authenticity of the genuine article. Zaros REAL New York Bagels - boiled and baked the same way for over 75 years are now available to customers anywhere from coast-to-coast.
Its not your usual roll with a hole, says Stuart Zaro, CEO of Zaros New York Bakery. Some say the American bagel has lost its way, but Zaro's New York Bagels are AUTHENTIC with no conditioners, emulsifiers, or preservatives of any kind. Only the good stuff.
With 11 stores throughout Manhattan and 10,000 customers per day, Zaros New York Bakery is a New York City institution. Still, many people outside the Big Apple have yet to discover its freshly prepared breads, bagels, cakes, cookies, and other bakery items. Hoping to spread its hot, flaky goodness to customers on the other side of the Hudson River and beyond, the 78-year-old Bronx-based chain launched a new retail, e-commerce venture to give consumers from Portland, Ore. to Portland, Maine a chance to taste what New Yorkers always told them they were missing, including and perhaps most importantly the New York Bagel.
The new website (www.zaro.com) features eighteen different assortments of Zaros most popular fresh baked goods. Most assortments are carefully packaged in a sturdy, reusable, "taxi cab yellow" gift box with cartoon sketches of New York City Landmarks on it. They can be shipped overnight to almost anywhere in the world, making it a perfect gift for someone you love, or just to have a dozen real New York bagels for yourself.
About Zaros New York Bakery
The family opened their first store in 1927 when Joseph Zaro arrived at Ellis Island from Eastern Europe. By 1976 his sons, Phil and William had built the business to a 20 store chain in the most critical and competitive market in the world. In 1977, the company opened its Grand Central Station store which paved the way for a store in Pennsylvania Station, the Port Authority Bus Terminal and many others. Over 1.5 million people pass by a Zaros store each day, making Zaro's a household name in the New York Metropolitan area. The company manufactures its New York bagels and all of its own products at a large plant in the Bronx.
